Apple branded OEM Pioneer DVR-K06 slimline, slot loading multi DVD single and dual layer burner. It will be the PA, PB or the PC revision. This drive can be used in the iMac G5, 12" & 14" iBook G4, Titanium (replacement brackets & cable may be required for earlier Titanium models), Aluminium 12", 15" & 17" PowerBooks, iMac G5 and in the MacBook Pro 17".
This drive is not suitable for the 13" MacBook or 15" MacBook Pro as these laptops use a thinner format drive (UJ-857). It is also not suitable for the Intel iMacs as it does not grab the disk far enough out to function in these machines where the drive is located further back behind the casing.

Where the optical drive is fitted with a custom bezel such as the iBook G4 and iMac G5 range, your existing bezel will only fit if the drive being replaced was a Pioneer model otherwise a Pioneer specific bezel will also be required. This drive can be used with OSX 10.2 or higher in conjunction with disk burning software such as Toast. Disk buring is directly supported within OSX 10.4.8 or later. There is no manual, software or mounting hardware included.
