Refurbished, tested, Apple branded Panasonic (Matsushita) UJ-875 slimline, slot loading multi DVD burner with 22mm pickup. This drive has never been used in a computer. It is a service spare which may has been re-tested but may have surface marks due to poor storage. The drive offers full 8X recording speeds on DVD±R Discs plus the ability to record on DVD+R Double Layer and DVD-RAM formats, including DVD±RW and CD-R/RW. This drive is the replacement for UJ-845, UJ-846 & UJ-85J models.

It can be used in the Intel Mac Mini, 12" & 14" iBook G4, Titanium (replacement brackets & cable may be required for earlier Titanium models), Aluminium 12", 15" & 17" PowerBooks and in the MacBook Pro 17" (pre-Unibody). Because this drive is a direct manufacturers replacement for the earlier Matsushita drives Apple fitted in these laptops, any original optical bezels will fit these new drives provided the original drive was a Panasonic model.
This drive is not suitable for the 13" MacBook or 15" MacBook Pro as these laptops use a thinner 9.5mm high drive (GSA-S10N, UJ-857, UJ-867). It is also NOT suitable for use in the aluminium Intel iMacs.
This drive can be used with OSX 10.2 or higher in conjunction with disk burning software such as Toast. Disk buring is directly supported within OSX 10.4 or later. There is no manual, software or mounting hardware included.
Please not ethat this was the last in the range of slot loading ATA notebook superdrives produced by Panasonic and is itself now discontinued so supply of this drive is extremely scarce.
